Every aspect of Doug’s life is underpinned with his deep and abiding commitment to his values.

Doug’s family is his epicenter

He is married to Julie Dixon-Green, Associate Dean of the Hussman School of Journalism at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. He is the proud father of two teenagers, a daughter and son. Doug enjoys spending time with them and actively participating in their many school and extracurricular activities.

The second son of Lee and Carolyn Green, he grew up in Alamance County, North Carolina and attended Walter Williams High School. He was an honor student and stand-out athlete, who lettered in 4 sports and was All State in football. Following high school, he received an athletic scholarship to renowned Duke University to play football and became a stand out ACC wide receiver. Today, he enjoys playing golf and spending quality time with family and friends.

Doug’s Cornerstones

Community and philanthropic service have always been a cornerstone of Doug’s life. Currently, he is a Board member of the Alamance County Community Service Agency and an active participant in the Dream Center-affiliated with City Gate Church of Burlington, NC. He is also on the Board of the Alamance Community College Foundation. For over 35 years, Doug has been a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. And, he is a member of Grace Outreach Ministries in Mebane, N.C.
